'Tis the season

Super glam flocked tree in Dallas townhouse
The period from Thanksgiving to Christmas is my favorite time of the year. It is a time to remember what we have to be GRATEFUL for, as well as a time to be FESTIVE.
I am so thankful for my family and friends, and all of the wonderful people who work at Jan Showers & Associates and the Jan Showers Collection. The very best part of the holidays is spending time with those we love and cherish. I also find myself thinking of CHRISTMASES PAST.

We enjoy decorating the house for the holidays---Ron Schultz, who is a dear friend and has worked with me for 25+ years---decorates both our showroom in the Dallas Design District, and our townhouse in Dallas. I’m a big believer in keeping all of our old ORNAMENTS and DECORATIONS. It’s so much fun to pull out of the boxes year after year.

LESS IS MORE, especially if you have a tree. FRESH FLOWERS are wonderful---Ron and I like to use either fresh magnolia leaves or camellia foliage along with berries, white flowers, pine and fir.

Most years, it is fun to buy just the right gift for everyone on our list. This year, we decided that there are so many who need food and shelter that we would donate money to the NORTH TEXAS FOOD BANK and send a lovely card to each of those friends.
And, here is my wish for all of you----have a JOYOUS HOLIDAY SEASON and a happy, healthy and prosperous NEW YEAR
We’ll be back in January with my take on COFFEE TABLES and lots of photos from our new shipments from PARIS and NEW YORK.
