Handcrafted Cabinetry with Christopher Peacock

We have had the privilege of working with Christopher Peacock for many years on projects all over the country.  Christopher Peacock is a designer and maker of very special fitted cabinetry for every room in the home. We are fortunate to have a Christopher Peacock showroom in the Dallas Design District where we are able to meet with clients and experience his custom cabinetry collections. This collaboration brings together our team, Christopher Peacock, and his designer Ashley Brown of Dallas. It provides our clients with the art of “living like this.”

See our Q&A with Christopher to answer some of our most commonly asked questions and help get to know him better—

Q: Tell us a little bit about Christopher Peacock as a brand and how you work with designers.

A:  I founded the company nearly 35 years ago in Greenwich, Connecticut, with a clear vision to design, fabricate, and install exquisite cabinetry for every room in the home. Today, we work throughout the United States and internationally, delivering truly bespoke solutions for discerning clients. We manage every stage of the process, from the earliest design development through fabrication, installation, and final finishing, ensuring complete control and exceptional quality at every step. Our proprietary hardware, meticulous craftsmanship, and spectacular hand‑painted finishes set our work apart and reflect the timeless elegance that defines our brand.

Q: What initially drew you to the world of custom cabinetry and design, and what continues to inspire you about working in this field today?

A: I grew up in a home where design and building were a daily discussion given my parents’ careers, and that early exposure shaped everything that followed. I’ve always been drawn to creative pursuits, and the design industry has given me a lifelong outlet for that passion. It has taken me around the world, introduced me to extraordinary places and ideas, and continually inspired me. What I’ve learned along the way is that the greatest satisfaction comes from true collaboration, working with like‑minded people who share the same commitment to craft, beauty, and thoughtful design.

Q: If you hadn't pursued a career in design, what path do you think you would have followed I've heard you played the drums earlier in your life - do you think music might have become your profession?

A: I'd love to think that I could have been a successful musician, and in so many ways that career dream and the one I now have are similar, in that they have provided me with adventure travel and the most incredible experiences whilst getting to do the thing I love.

Q: Which phase of the design process do you find most rewarding, and why does that stage resonate with you?

A: This may sound strange, but I actually enjoy every phase of the process. The initial collaboration and design development is always rewarding, but I also love meeting the challenges as we go through the journey of designing and manufacturing and then delivering the cabinetry. Of course, I love to see the work come to life and the end result is always so incredibly rewarding.

Q:  How has your team evolved over the years, and how many people currently make up Christopher Peacock?

A: We are a team of approximately 120 people, managing every stage of the process, from design and fabrication to project management, installation, and the ongoing service for every client we work with. I’m proud to say that many of my colleagues have been with me for a very long time. In many ways, we’ve grown up together, building this brand and shaping the standards that define it. Their loyalty, talent, and commitment are at the heart of who we are.

That said, at the same time, I’m continually energized by the younger talent that joins us. Their fresh perspectives, curiosity, and new ways of thinking push us forward and keep our work evolving. The blend of long-standing experience and emerging creativity is one of our greatest strengths.

Q: When collaborating with Jan Showers, what aspects of her design sensibility resonate most with you, and how do you see her aesthetic complementing your own?

A:  The Jan Showers team are true masters of their craft. It is immediately clear that the depth of experience and exquisite taste that Jan has cultivated over her remarkable career continues seamlessly through Zara and everyone on the team. While firmly rooted in classical and traditional principles, Jan is never afraid of color, whimsy, or the occasional design risk, choices that somehow always resolve into a space that feels perfectly balanced and beautifully considered. She runs a tight, highly professional operation, which is a testament to everything she has achieved and the standards she has set.

Working with Jan and her team is always a pleasure, and I genuinely feel that our design aesthetics complement one another effortlessly.

Q:  Across the projects you've completed with Jan, are there particular locations that stand out to you, and how does geography influence your design approach in those spaces?

A:  Every project with Jan is special and I'm honestly unable to choose one over another. No matter where we go, and where we work together, we listen and we take her lead and then try to meet the goal for the particular client and the particular location.

Q:  How has Ashley Brown in Dallas played an important role in the growth and presence of your brand?

A:  I am very fortunate to have Ashley represent my company in the Dallas area. Ashley has a vast amount of experience working at the highest level and she has the ability to handle the most prestigious projects. She is more than a cabinetry designer in so many ways; her knowledge of construction scale and proportion an architecture, coupled with her many years designing cabinetry across the country makes her a very valuable part of our business.
